Wow what a fantastic adventure I will go back
Agrandir les caractères A A Réduire les caractères A AThe ship is one of the older ones on the Nile but the décor is sumptuous and styled el greco. It was so very Agatha Christie death on the Nile that I was really pleased that I had chosen this ship out of all of the ones on offer. There are 3 decks for passengers, lower with reception some cabins, lounge area with bar and tv, a shop and the restaurant, middle floor has cabins and a chill out area and the top deck hosts the sun loungers, covered area, bar and small pool games/chill out area with computer. The cabin was really comfortable and very clean .... the towel art was amazing : ) The food was excellent lots of choice and the Chef always on hand to explain what the various dishes contained. They put on specialist evenings and the candlelit dinner was incredible. My package included all tours except Abu Simbel which is well worth going on. I was the only English guest as the rest of the passengers where German and French but that was not a problem, the staff went out of their way to make sure I was included in everything they where absolutely brilliant,so helpful re shopping, places to see outside of the organised tours etc. I always dress for dinner but that's just me the rest of the guests had a more informal style of dress. There was a mixture of age ranges and families as well as couples all of whom where catered for. It would not be suitable for wheel chair access but then none of the ships I saw would have been.
CabineExternal cabin on the mid deck which was great because from my cabin I could watch the Nile go by as the ship travelled. The furnishings where in the same style as the rest of the ship and although compact in nature - just like any cabin I've been in, the furnishings had a homely feel to them. Bathroom again compact with a shower toilet and basin. Air conditioning, radio, fridge, radio, safe and telephone (the safe I believe you had to pay for I didn't use it) Double Bed was very comfortable with extra blankets etc. if you needed them. It was very comfortable extremely clean and the towel art was amazing, with towels changed daily. Power points available in the room. Cleaning staff where fantastic and managed to anticipate needs like extra loo roll.
GastronomieOne restaurant which was well laid out. The centre having the aisle from which the buffet was situated. Again the restaurant was as clean as the rest of the ship. The food was amazing, every day a variety of different choices, mainly catering for French and German tastes but, the variety of all of the dishes on offer which included local dishes was brilliant . The staff and chef where always on hand to explain what was on offer. The atmosphere was good and full of life. I personally always dress for dinner but the other guests wore casual attire which is fine. I cannot comment on prices for drinks as I was all inclusive and do not drink alcohol. I gave all of the staff tips at the end of my stay but again that is my personal choice.

The staff made my holiday for me, even those who did not speak English made the effort to try which was extremely good of them. All of the staff whom I came into contact with on a daily basis spoke at least 3 languages, one of them being English, other than egyptian aabic - amazing in itself. They where extremely helpful in pointing out good places to shop, visit, find banks, taxis etc etc There was a laundry facility on board, and basically anything you might need which was not available if you asked they did there best to either get it for you or point you in the right direction to find it.
Sport et animationThere where 3 organised evenings during the week - nubian night, arabic night, which included belly dancing, and the candle lit dinner. All good fun and thoroughly enjoyed them as everyone participated in the fun. There was also a massage parlour onboard - I did not try it so I cannot rate it. Disco was held in the lounge area if guests requested it.
ExcursionsMy tours where all included in my holiday package and as I was the only English guest basically got one to one tours which was brilliant. All of the tour guides where highly knowledgeable and spoke extremely good English. I gave a tip to my taxi drivers and also my guides but again this is personal choice. Definitely book the tours when you book your cruise as they really are mind blowing, such amazing history.
Autres conseils & recommandationsI always carry a medical kit as whilst the ship is travelling you will not be able to access a chemist. I found the weather just right whilst there in April Hot but not enough to stop you enjoying being outside. Make sure you take a light weight jacket as the breeze late evening can be chilly compared to the heat of the day. Enjoy your trip its an amazing country : )
